We, ‘ Wild n Nature Concern’ members set our ‘Winter Camp’ at Jaypur Forest on last weekend to watch the bio-diversity of Bankura District, specially in Jaypur Block. We spend at some selected areas of Jaypur Forest , Samudra Bandh, Surrounding villages,& also ‘Lal Bandh’ a water body , at Bishnupur. Laterite soil, dry deciduous Jungle of Sal trees & the reddish leaves of Sal (just before Shading) are trying to hide every wildlife of the jungle .
This time, we were not fortunate enough to find Indian Grey Horn-bill ,like our previous trip in June 2013.But the man-made tiny forest was waiting for us with lucrative Golden-fronted Leaf birds, near ‘Tower house’ in a hide & seek mood between greenish -yellow ripened leaves. Within few meters four Chestnut-Headed Bee-eaters presented a surprise visit to us.
Flashing waves of Asian Paradise Flycatcher, ‘drrrrrrt’ call of Taiga Flycatcher, Colors of Small Minivets just made the pale winter garden bright & colorful.
